Judge gives MySpace ranter 2 to 5 years in state prison

You know that warning about being careful what you post on social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook because you never know who might be reading it?

Somebody should have told Gregory Travis Narick to stay off his computer.

The Montgomery County man bragged online after beating an attempted murder charge that he was involved in drug activity and used an assault rifle to endanger a onetime rival.

The Pottstown Mercury reported Narick's MySpace postings in an earlier article that caught the attention of Montgomery County prosecutors.

"The defendant is someone who very clearly needs to get his butt kicked and needs some structure in his life and some direction and I think that the boot camp program is going to get him that," said Assistant District Attorney Christopher Parisi, who sought a state prison sentence against Narick. "He's got several years that state parole is going to be watching him like a hawk."
