Newspaper backs Rogers for 17th District Senate nod

The Philadelphia Inquirer has endorsed Lance Rogers over Lisa Paolino in the primary battle to win the Republican nomination for the open 17th District Senate seat in Pennsylvania.

Rogers, an attorney and Lower Merion Township Supervisor, has more experience and the right experience for the job, according to the newspaper.

Read the full endorsement editorial here.

Keep in mind that the endorsement is just for the primary. The editorial mentioned that Democrat Daylin Leach, running unopposed, is "an experienced state representative."

Leach, who serves in the state House, has voted for numerous tax increases, higher debt, more state spending and has opposed reform measures. If that's the kind of experience The Inquirer likes to see in politicians, we're all in trouble.

The 17th state Senate District, now served by Democrat Connie Williams, is comprised of Radnor and Haverford townships in Delaware County, and Bridgeport, Conshohocken, West Conshohocken, Narberth, Norristown, East Norriton, Lower Merion, Plymouth and Upper Merion in Montgomery County.
