Clinton, McCain, Obama show up for work

This just in. Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama showed up for work today.

While the trio has been touring the country looking for votes for their respective presidential bids, the American taxpayer is still picking up their salaries as United States senators. It's just that they don't bother to show up for work.

The special occassion today is testimony by Gen. David Petraeus before the Senate Armed Services Committee on the progress of the Iraq War. You know Clinton, McCain and Obama weren't going to miss this one.

The last time Petraeus testified, Sen. Clinton came up with her smarmy "willing suspension of disbelief" line. And her friends over at the far-left smear site, MoveOn.org ran that ad in the New York Times with the "Petraeus Betray Us" tag.

I don't think Clinton will try to anything like that today. Sen. Clinton is no longer pandering to the far left base of the Democratic Party. The far left has abandoned Clinton for Sen. Obama.

I caught the opening comments by Democrat Sen. Carl Levin. It appears that the new Democratic Party strategy is to blame high gas prices on the Iraq War. This is the same group that claimed George W. Bush went to war in Iraq to get cheap oil. Now, it's the Iraq War that is the cause of high oil prices. Typical double-speak by the Democrats.
