Matthews, Hoeffel run secret government

Margaret Gibbons takes a shot at Republican Jim Matthews and Democrat Joe Hoeffel for keeping important vital from fellow Montgomery County Commissioner Bruce Castor in her latest column in The Mercury.

Gibbons, whose politics lean to the left, has never been a big fan of Castor, but she says that Matthews and Hoeffel had no business keeping information about problems with the county's 911 system from their fellow commissioner.

From Gibbons' column:
"Castor had to learn from a reporter that the county's 911 emergency phone system twice went down (in March).

That is not acceptable.

Voters elected Castor (actually, he received the highest number of votes in the commissioners' race) to do a job, and he can't do it when he doesn't get information on which he can act."
Is it possible to have a recall election in Montgomery County?

I'm sure most Republicans who voted for Matthews regret that decision and there must be a handful of Democrats who would rather have Ruth Damsker back in office instead of Hoeffel, who has broken most of his campaign promises in just his first three months in office.
