More than 8 million Pennsylvania residents have registered to vote in the state's April 22 primary election. How many of those eligible voters show up at the polls is another story.
If you're not going to be able to cast a ballot in person on Tuesday, April 22, you have the option of submitting an absentee ballot, but the deadline to apply, fill out and return an absentee ballot is fast approaching.
Request forms for absentee ballots must be completed, signed, and received by their county board of elections no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15.
Some exceptions apply to military, overseas and emergency absentee voters. More information about the deadlines for these absentee voters is available through VotesPA.com
Pennsylvanians who are voting for the first time are required to provide a copy of one form of identification with their application or ballot, such as a driver's license or current bank statement that includes the name and address of the voter.
A complete list of approved forms of identification is available through VotesPA.com The absentee ballot application form can be downloaded through the Quick Links section of VotesPA.com.
