Your tax dollars at work?

From The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:
PennDOT personnel engaging in blatantly partisan politics? Say it isn't so.

Unfortunately, you can't.

Not after GrassrootsPA.com published two photos Wednesday of a PennDOT truck in Pittsburgh's Labor Day parade distinctly bearing "Onorato for Governor" signs.

Those signs would seem to be a tacit PennDOT endorsement of Dan Onorato, the Allegheny County executive and Democrat gubernatorial nominee. Look at the pictures -- you'll see no placards referencing Onorato's Republican opponent, state Attorney General Tom Corbett.

We asked PennDOT District 11 Executive Dan Cessna if this was appropriate adornment for a PennDOT vehicle. "Displays of political ads on department equipment is not acceptable," he said.

Added Rich Kirkpatrick, spokesman at the agency's Harrisburg headquarters: "(PennDOT) Secretary (Allen) Biehler wants to make it very clear he is very disappointed with a PennDOT truck being in the parade with political signs on it."

Cessna and Kirkpatrick both said the incident is being investigated. We're anxious to see if anyone will be disciplined.
