State reps back Paolino in 17th District Senate race

Lisa Paolino has picked up a couple of big-name endorsements in her bid to win the GOP nomination for the 17th District state Senate seat.

Two Republican state lawmakers are backing Paolino in the April 22 primary contest against Lance Rogers. The winner will take on state Rep. Daylin Leach in the fall. The 17th District Senate seat is being vacated by Connie Williams, who is not seeking reelection.

State Reps. Bill Adolph (R-165) and Thomas Killion (R-168) today announced their endorsement of Paolino.

Paolino is vice president of the Radnor Township Board of Commissioners.

"I have been fortunate enough to have worked with Lisa as a Township Commissioner, and she is a dynamo," Rep. Adolph said in a press release. "She is intelligent and hard working and knows how to take care of her constituents. I am very pleased to endorse her campaign and I look forward to working with her when she becomes State Senator."

Paolino and Adolph worked closely together to begin the sound-barrier retrofit along Route 476, significantly reducing noise and pollution for Radnor Township residents, according to the Paolino campaign.

State Rep. Thomas Killion has worked with Paolino for many years as past Delaware County Council President and as a state legislator.

"Delaware County was elated when she became the first woman ever elected to serve on the Radnor Board of Commissioners in 1999," Rep. Killion said in a press release. "It was a significant win for the Republican Party since her Ward was considered to be a Democratic stronghold."

Paolino sees the endorsements as another sign that her campaign is gaining momentum.

"I appreciate the support from Bill Adolph and Tom Killion as I have an enormous amount of respect for these remarkable leaders," Paolino said.

These endorsements come after the Radnor Republican Committee unanimously endorsed Paolino last month. Within the past week, Paolino received endorsements from the Pennsylvania Women's Campaign Fund and the Bricklayer's and Allied Craftworkers Local Union #1 of Pennsylvania and Delaware.

I'm not endorsing anyone for the 17th Senate District. I'm trying to give the two GOP candidates equal access to getting information about their campaigns to potential voters. I do believe that the GOP has a golden opportunity to take this seat away from the Democrats, so I would like to see a Republican elected instead of far left tax-and-spend liberal Daylin Leach, but it's up to GOP voters on April 22 whether Rogers or Paolino is the party nominee.

Sure hope you were adequately comnpensated for that comment. As they say, get a good look up close without the art of photography?
