Pennsylvanians are generous

I've always believed there are lots of good people in Pennsylvania. It's just the politicians who stink up the place.

The Philadelphia Business Journal reports that giving by Pennsylvania residents and foundations doubled from 1995 to 2005.

Individuals and foundations in the state gave $7.94 billion in 2005, an increase of 101 percent from $3.96 billion in 1995, the Business Journal reports, citing statistics in the Commonwealth Giving report.

The full report on charitable giving is available at www.dvg.org

Imagine how much more the people of Pennsylvania could do if government didn't take away so much of their income.
