Election officials will earn their money on April 22

Montgomery County election officials are promising a smooth primary election on April 22 despite the anticipated record turnout by Democratic Party voters. Read more in The Times-Herald.

In neighboring Chester County, one longtime observer of the political scene predicts a nightmare scenario. Columnist Jim Callahan warns voters to "Prepare for upcoming nightmare as county copes with poll issues."

"I hate to be a doomsayer, but the level of enthusiasm for this presidential primary means a high voter turnout. And a high voter turnout inevitably means some polling places will get hammed up at some time or another."

My money is on Callahan. We may not have election results from Chester County until April 23 ... if then.
