Clinton, Obama fail American taxpayers

If you think the economy is bad now, wait until Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama become president.

Both Democratic presidential candidates were awarded a grade of "F" by a nonpartisan taxpayers' group that reviewed their voting records in the Senate.

When it comes to government spending and tax policy, Clinton and Obama have failed the American taxpayer, according to the National Taxpayers Union.

The nonpartisan watchdog group rates U.S. Representatives and Senators on "every vote that significantly affects taxes, spending, debt and regulatory burdens on consumers and taxpayers," according to its Web site.

Not only did Clinton and Obama rate "F" grades as "Big Spenders," but their cumulative scores were among the lowest in the entire 100-member Senate.

Republican Sen. John McCain received an incomplete grade from the group because he voted on less than half of the bills the group reviewed, according to its Web site.

For a full analysis of the grades, check out the tax group's Government Bytes blog.
