Pittsburgh Shakedown

Is there anything Democrats won't tax? As if college tuition wasn't expensive enough, a Democrat is now threatening to impose a tuition tax.

Over the last few years, I've found myself agreeing w/ some conservative views.

However, when I read your material I see attacks on liberal media. Yet,conservative media is doing just as poor a job as liberal media. Stop blaming Liberal for media bias.

Conservative are telling just as many lies as Liberal media
All corporate media in America appears to be seriously flawed.

I am against the tuition tax. I am a student and a tax payer in Pittsburgh. With the tuition tax coming so soon after mass arrest of students during Pittsburgh G20, it is not difficult for me to conclude that the Mayor has no respect for the contributions of students in the Pittsburgh community. Not only do students work, we also volunteer and do a great deal of social justice work in communities impacted by poverty, government neglect and poor living standards.

We also shop, eat and purchase items for our dorms and apartments. We buy gas, go to movies and bars. Invite ppl from out of town to visit and spend money on tourist attractions. Yes, the mayor has been under pressure due to non-profit exemptions. But he did not have to use students in his ploy to get money from Non-profits. UPMC does not even appear to be a non-profit entity, but it's exempt from real estate taxes. The Pittsburgh Political Machine is a corrupt good old boys club that thrives on nepotism and cronyism. City of residents might as well admit that Democrats practically have a mononpoly in the city of Pittsburgh.

It is so difficult for Independents or Republicans to run a campaign in a city that is held hostage by the Democratic Party, Unions, Pittsburgh Post Gazette & UPMC. Those are the entities that make all the decisions in the city of Pittsburgh.

I bet those Democrats went into voting booth and pulled straight ticket... so now we have a Mayor who is closing libraries, taxing students and who approved of 200 unnecessary arrests of college students during G20. The mayor apparently hates students...

And last but not least, we have a Mayor who announces he is leaving his wife and small child, three weeks after winning election and less than a month befor X-Mas.

C'mon Pittsburgh voters. We have four years of Mayor Luke. Next time, please don't vote straight Democrat...
