Former Berks County man pleads not guilty in stalking of actress, family

Here's update on the Jennifer Garner stalker case, which has a Berks County connection:

From the Reading Eagle:
LOS ANGELES - A former Reading man arrested outside a school attended by a daughter of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck was charged Thursday with felony stalking and violating a restraining order.

Steven R. Burky, 37, whose last known address was on North Ninth Street, was arrested in Santa Monica on Monday at the nursery school where Violet Affleck, one of the couple's two daughters, is enrolled, police said.

Burky harassed Affleck and Garner and made threats that placed both in fear for the safety of their family, according to court records.

He pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Thursday afternoon and was ordered held on $300,000 bail, District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison said. A judge also ordered him to stay 500 feet away from Garner, Affleck and their family if released.
