Rep. Pitts on Nov. Unemployment Figures

The Obama Administration announced Friday that U.S unemployment decreased to 8.6 percent in the month of November, sending a tingle up the legs of liberal media types everywhere. Nationwide, 120,000 jobs were created. However, participation in the labor pool dropped from 64.2 percent to 64 percent.

Rep. Joe Pitts, R-PA, released the following statement:
"While it was good to see the unemployment rate moving in the right direction, there are still more than 13 million Americans looking for jobs. Many of them have been trying hard to get a job for months or even years. In part, the unemployment rate fell because some Americans simply decided to stop looking. This is unacceptable. There is much we have to do in Washington to encourage a climate of job creation. I recently updated my plan for job growth, which is available on my website, www.house.gov/Pitts. Restoring our economy and creating jobs must continue to be Congress’ first priority."
