What elected officials really think of constituents

If you've suspected that the people you elect to represent you don't give a damn about you, you're pretty close to the truth.

An elected school board member in Berks County, PA, wrote a letter to a newspaper explaining why he used salty language during an outbursts at a recent public meeting and in the process outed some of his fellow board members.

An excerpt from his letter:
"I have been on the Wilson School Board for 11 years, and over the last few years I have seen several on the board disregard the principles of the democratic process. Meetings are orchestrated in advance, we hide information from the public, ridicule the public behind close doors, and quite often flat out lie to the public."
