Holiday Weekend Box Office Totals

"The Final Destination" topped the box office this weekend with an estimated $15.4 million. Not a big weekend for moviegoing, but the summer of 2009 is officially the biggest ever for Hollywood, with a total box office receipts of $4.2 billion.

A couple of milestones were reached over the weekend: "Transformers 2" topped $400 million and "District 9" topped $100 million, but "Inglourious Basterds" may have missed out on its last chance to reach the coveted $100 million mark.
