I must be getting old. I still have my vinyl copy of "Parallel Lines" by Blondie that I purchased in 1978.
And by some strange coincidence, I've been listening to the album a lot in the past couple of weeks. The music sounds just as fresh today as it when I was in high school.
The album has one great track after another: "Hanging On The Telephone," "One Way Or Another," "Picture This," "Fade Away And Radiate," "Pretty Baby," "Sunday Girl," "Heart Of Glass," "Just Go Away."
I have no desire to see the band Blondie perform 30 years past their prime, but I am looking forward to the new CD, with bonus tracks and a companion DVD.

I was at Central High in Philly when I was turned on the the group "Blondie"
ReplyDeleteShe had that Kensington white trash thing going on (I'm a "Kenzo") and it was pretty hot.
What surprised me the most was when I found out that she was only 3 years younger than my mom...there went the hotness factor! (well, maybe not...hehe)
She's stood the test of time. My 7 year old daughter recently discovered "The Tide is High" and "Heart of Glass" and loves the songs!
Boom! Perpetuated for yet another generation!
The good news is our musical tastes coincide. :)
