Rendell pushes welfare, more debt

Will Pennsylvania survive another three years under Ed Rendell?

The governor who raised the state income tax and gave us the $52 a year nuisance tax for workers during his first term has decided to try something else in his second term.

Rendell's 2008-09 budget proposal includes huge increases in welfare spending (corporate and personal) and a massive increase in state debt.

Read the excellent assessment of Rendell's "stimulus" package at The Commonwealth Foundation's Policy Blog.
