Pa. health teacher charged with selling heroin

I'm not sure what's the worst angle in this story: the fact that the suspect was a high school health teacher earning $60,000 a year or the fact that she was the daughter of the school district's superintendent.

GOP's Martina White wins 170th House District, defeats Dem by 14 points

A decisive win by a Republican in a Philadelphia legislative district where Democrats enjoy a 2-1 voter advantage should send shivers down the spine of the Democratic Party establishment. Nobody is buying the Democratic brand anymore.

Obama's $4 Trillion Budget Rejected 98-1 by Senate

Even his fellow Democrats regard Barack Obama as a joke. Only one Democratic senator (Carper of Delaware) voted for Obama's new budget plan.

Stop the Presses! A Republican Wins in Philadelphia!

It hasn't happened in a quarter-century.

Republican Martina White has won the special election to fill a vacant seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from Philadelphia's 170th State House District.

The seat was held by Democrat Brandon Boyle, who resigned after he was elected to Congress. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 2-to-1 in this Northeast Philadelphia legislative district (which isn't as bad as the rest of Philadelphia, where Dems enjoy a 7-to-1 registered voter advantage.)

Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement:

"Congratulations to Martina White on becoming the first newly elected Republican to represent a Philadelphia-based State House District in twenty-five years," Gleason said. "Martina White's strong work ethic and background in finance helped Martina to earn the support of the voters the 170th State House District. Martina's roots in the Northeast, focus on Northeast Philadelphia's local issues and  diverse coalition of support will make her a terrific state Representative and member of the Republican Caucus.

"The Republican Party of Philadelphia has turned the corner with Representative-elect Martina White's victory today. The hard work of Republican Party of Philadelphia is paying off, and I am confident that tonight’s win will be the first of many victories to come for the Philly GOP.

"I want to congratulate Philadelphia GOP Chairman and State Representative John Taylor, Speaker of the House Mike Turzai, Majority Leader Dave Reed and all of the volunteers and supporters who helped to make Martina’s victory possible. I look forward to watching State Representative-elect White use her voice to make a difference in her District with the now 120 member Republican House majority.

"In the first election after the Democrats announced their plans to hold their 2016 National Convention in Philadelphia, Republicans have delivered a resounding welcome with a huge win."

Obamacare hasn't aged well

The Washington Examiner: Just 31 percent of the uninsured had a favorable view of Obamacare. In other words, the segment of the population intended to be the primary beneficiaries of the law and who have the most reason to interact with it, have a more negative impression of the law than the broader public.

Supreme Court upholds legality of Wisconsin Voter ID law

A major blow today to the Democratic Party's voter fraud efforts. The US Supreme Court has upheld Wisconsin's Voter ID law. (Another victory for Gov. Scott Walker) It's a real shame former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett didn't have the backbone last year to challenge the ruling by 1 judge who rejected Pa.'s Voter ID law. If Corbett had shown more principle, he might still be governor.

Ben Shapiro: Hillary Clinton is not a pleasant human being

From a Ben Shapiro post at Truth Revolt:
Hillary Clinton is not a pleasant human being, by all available evidence. She does not convince; she browbeats. She does not discuss; she lectures. Her laugh issues mechanically from her mouth, resonating with a close-but-not-quite verisimilitude that occupies the space known as the uncanny valley. If anyone were to kidnap Hillary Clinton and replace her with a robot of Hillary Clinton, it would take a short circuit for America to realize it. Her campaign slogan should be: "Remarkably Lifelike!"

Website exposes Pa. Gov. Wolf's property tax scheme

Republican state lawmakers want Pennsylvania residents to understand the property tax shift scheme Gov. Tom Wolf proposed in his 2015-16 budget.

The House Majority Appropriations Committee on Monday launched a website --  www.TaxpayersThatPay.com -- that provides details on how Pennsylvania taxpayers in each of the state's 500 school districts would fare under Wolf's proposed property tax shift plan.

"Despite what the governor has been saying, his property tax shift proposal would cost many taxpayers across the Commonwealth far more than it would provide in property tax relief," state Rep. James R. Santora (R-Delaware) said. "Once it's fully implemented, the governor's plan would raise more than $8 billion in new taxes, but only put $3.6 billion toward property tax relief."

Poll: Fox News The Most Trusted Source For News; MSNBC Dead Last

If you're getting your news from CNN or MSNBC, you're better off turning to the Cartoon Network or the Comedy Channel. A new poll by a prestigious university finds more Americans by far trust top-rated Fox News than all the other networks, including ABC, CBS, CNN and CNN. MSNBC finished dead last in the poll, just like it does in the ratings.

Here's the link to the poll results from the recent Quinnipiac University results showing Fox News way ahead of all the other networks in trustworthiness:

Wolf overstates Pa. deficit to push for higher taxes

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf has proposed $4.7 billion in new taxes, and claims he needs more revenue to deal with the state's $2.3 billion budget deficit. But an independent assessment of the state's finances shows a deficit of $1.5 billion. It appears Wolf wants to hit up Pennsylvania taxpayers so he can fund his liberal agenda.
