Law enforcement backs Rogers in 17th Dist. Senate race

This just in from the Committee to Elect Lance Rogers:
Today, independent reformer and Republican candidate for State Senate Lance Rogers announced that he has received the unanimous endorsement of all Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) organizations in the 17th Senate district. Rogers' endorsements are a result of his strong support of first responders during his tenure as the only Independent ever elected to the Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners.

The endorsements include: Pioneer Lodge 37 (Southeast Pennsylvania); Lower Merion Lodge 28; Norristown Lodge 31; Montgomery County Lodge 14; Delaware County Lodge 27; the FOP PA State Lodge; and the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association.

Lance Rogers: "I am humbled by the endorsement of the brave men and women of the Fraternal Order of Police. The support of the FOP means the world to me, as I have always made it a priority to support the needs of those who protect us and serve the community. I look forward to continuing my advocacy on behalf of first responders."

James G. Heins, President Pioneer FOP Lodge 37: "Our members recognize [Lance] to be a true friend of law enforcement with a genuine concern for the safety of Pennsylvania communities"

In addition to public safety, Lance has placed ethics reform at the top of his agenda, and released his ethics reform plan last month to hold politicians from both political parties accountable. He will also be a strong voice for healthcare reform, top quality education, and developing a more competitive business tax structure in Pennsylvania to create more good paying local jobs.

Lance Rogers is a Lower Merion Township Commissioner residing in the Penn Wynne/Wynnewood area. As a Commissioner, Lance stood up for his neighbors by co-sponsoring the resolution that stopped the eminent domain land grab in Ardmore, and was named a Budget Hawk twice for opposing property tax increases. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the Lower Merion Police Committee, and Chair of the Fire Committee. In those roles, Lance has sought incentives to help recruit and retain volunteer firefighters, and be a strong voice for first responders. Lance also volunteers his time offering free legal advice to those in need.
